This one day workshop is an exploration into abstract painting, using cruciform composition. It is intended for both acrylic and oil painters. The cross shape is embedded into the work as a basic strong structure. We will incorporate balance and movement within the framework. We will use complementary colours, brushes and/palette knives and canvas sizes as desired. We may blend, layer, create visual and physical texture. Our aim will be visual impact, understanding of composition types and the potential of paint and colour.
There will be a demonstration in acrylic and one on one discussion. Group Critique for what worked and why is at the end of the day.
